Mind-Body Fertility Support: It’s Not Just for Natural Conception

If you’ve listened to any of my podcast episodes, you know that after 5 ½ long years of trying to get pregnant, I shifted gears and turned my focus to my mind-body connection. You will also know that after six months of this approach, I got pregnant–naturally–for the very first time, and then had my first child. You will further know that mindfulness was the key to me getting pregnant naturally with my second child, as well.


It stands to reason, then, that one of the questions I get asked frequently is, “Do you only work with women who are interested in getting pregnant naturally?”


The answer is an emphatic and resounding no! I think taking a mind-body approach to fertility is absolutely critical for every woman who is trying to get pregnant.


There’s No One “Right” Way to Get Pregnant


Every one of us is different, right? So it makes total sense that each of our fertility journeys is different. Some of you will conceive naturally, others through IUI or IVF, some via donor eggs or embryos, some of you will work with surrogates. And many of you probably don’t know which direction you’re headed yet. That’s totally ok.


Whatever path you are on is yours, and it’s not my job to tell you which one to take. My job is to walk with you, helping you feel grounded and supported as you move forward.


A mind-body approach has nothing to do with how you conceive. It’s about how you feel and how you think as you navigate this often overwhelming process.


Why the Mind-Body Connection Matters (No Matter What)


This probably won’t come as a shock to you, but trying to conceive can take a serious toll on your body and your mind. Whether you’re tracking your cycle or scheduling IVF appointments, you can easily find yourself caught in a constant loop of emotional ups and downs with all the stress and anxiety that brings.


Chronic stress can have an impact on everything from your hormones to your sleep to your energy levels. It can also make your fertility journey feel all-consuming.


And that’s where mind-body work comes in. When you have tools to calm your nervous system, shift your mindset, and support your emotional well-being, your physical health improves too!



So What Does a Mind-Body Approach Actually Look Like?


It looks different for everyone (because like we already said–we’re all different 😀), but here are some of the tools I help my clients learn:


🌼Stress reduction techniques like breathwork and guided visualization


🌼Mindset work around control, perfectionism, and self-compassion


🌼Daily habits that support your emotional resilience and connection to your body


🌼Small lifestyle tweaks (think sleep and movement) that can make a big difference


None of this is meant to replace medical treatment. It’s designed to work alongside whatever path you’re on—so you can feel like yourself again, even in the midst of the chaos of fertility issues.


This is Not a Mind Trick


Let’s be very clear about something: this is not about thinking your way pregnant. That’s not how this works.


This is about support. It’s about giving yourself space to breathe, to process, to reconnect with your body, and to be kind to yourself.
